Harp at your Wedding!

Harp adds a unique and beautiful element to your big day. Gemma is an experienced wedding performer and has performed in multiple venues across NSW and VIC. She is a passionate performer and loves to bring your favourite tunes to life. Gemma has a range of genres under her belt, including classical, jazz, pop and contemporary. She is inspired by artists such as Kate Miller Heidke, Joana Newsom, Lavinia Meijer, Hozier, Aurora and Björk. She also has a love for music from musicals, movies, games and soundtracks.

If you have a special piece or song in mind, Gemma is able to take song requests. She loves to play with other instrumentalists and has experience performing with Violinists, Cellists, Singers, Pianists, Flautists and more. If you are interested in an ensemble, Gemma can arrange that for you!

Gemma strives to provide a romantic atmosphere on your special day. She can curate a setlist with requested songs by you and/or from her provided setlist. The harp adds a hint of sparkle whilst still allowing for conversation. You can tailor which songs you would like at certain times if you have a vision in mind.

Song Excerpts

  • Do you take song requests?
Yes, Gemma can take song requests with enough notice!
  • Do you have a setlist?
Yes, I have a setlist with a wide range of songs from pop to classical to jazz. You are able to select a variety of songs to curate your own setlist.
  • Can you play with other instruments?
Yes! If you have a specific or non-specific combo in mind, Gemma has a range professional colleagues who she often performs with. Some popular combinations include Harp+Cello, and Harp+Violin.
  • What packages do you offer?
Send Gemma a message with details of your event to get a free customised quote!
  • Do you only perform within Melbourne?
Gemma performs within Melbourne and surrounding areas but is open to working beyond that. Please contact her if you have an event or idea in mind.
  • What if we are getting married outside?
Whilst the harp is able to play outdoors, we are unable to perform in direct sunlight or rain as it may damage our instrument. To be prepared, make sure there is a wet weather plan and optimal shade options such as an umbrella or two!
  • Do you need to bump in?
Harpists need a minimum of 30 minutes to set-up before hand. Please ensure you let Gemma know of the best access route into the venue, ideally one with ramps and lifts!
  • What will you wear?
Formal black attire, unless discussed or requested otherwise.
  • Will the harp be amplified?
Generally speaking, the harp is an acoustic instrument. For larger events (200+), Gemma's harp can be amplified and has a pickup installed and ready to go. She has her own portable speaker if needed.
  • Can we hear you play?
Gemma has some song excerpts on this page and over on her Instagram page. Look out for any upcoming performances or send her a message.
