“I have been getting harp lessons with Gemma for over two years now and I could not recommend her more! I have had multiple teachers over the years that I have played harp and Gemma has by far been the most helpful to my progression. She is highly skilled in both practice and theory, and is patient and attentive to her students. It is clear that she genuinely cares about the goals of her students. She has also allowed me to explore many styles of music and find a joy in playing"

  • Do you take song requests?
Yes, Gemma can take song requests with enough notice!
  • Do you have a setlist?
Yes, I have a setlist with a wide range of songs from pop to classical to jazz. You are able to select a variety of songs to curate your own setlist.
  • Can you play with other instruments?
Yes! If you have a specific or non-specific combo in mind, Gemma has a range professional colleagues who she often performs with. Some popular combinations include Harp+Cello, and Harp+Violin.
  • What packages do you offer?
Send Gemma a message with details of your event to get a free customised quote!
  • Do you only perform within Melbourne?
Gemma performs within Melbourne and surrounding areas but is open to working beyond that. Please contact her if you have an event or idea in mind.
  • What if we are getting married outside?
Whilst the harp is able to play outdoors, we are unable to perform in direct sunlight or rain as it may damage our instrument. To be prepared, make sure there is a wet weather plan and optimal shade options such as an umbrella or two!
  • Do you need to bump in?
Harpists need a minimum of 30 minutes to set-up before hand. Please ensure you let Gemma know of the best access route into the venue, ideally one with ramps and lifts!
  • What will you wear?
Formal black attire, unless discussed or requested otherwise.
  • Will the harp be amplified?
Generally speaking, the harp is an acoustic instrument. For larger events (200+), Gemma's harp can be amplified and has a pickup installed and ready to go. She has her own portable speaker if needed.
  • Can we hear you play?
Gemma has some song excerpts on this page and over on her Instagram page. Look out for any upcoming performances or send her a message.
